John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Our Father's greatest agenda is man's redemption. God's greatest concern is the lost souls. This should also be our greatest agenda as a church as well as every believer. That is why it is the Great Commission: go into the whole world to make disciples.
Matthew 28:16
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them.
Unfortunately, the church is obsessed with gathering together, having a good time, enjoying salvation, instead of going to seek the lost. The Great Commission is for every believer. You are to proclaim Christ to the lost world wherever you go. Wherever you find yourself—whether in school, job, career, or family—you need to let that world around you know about Christ.
Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
God gave us His Spirit for witnessing, not primarily for tongues. As we proclaim Christ with our words, we are also to proclaim Him with our deeds. Living out a transformed life has power to bring the lost world to Jesus.
Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
This light represents righteous living, kindness, and sharing the gospel, rather than hiding one's faith under a bowl. Let your light shine for all to see. It means making your faith visible through actions that demonstrate God's character. The goal of shining is not personal recognition, but to point others toward God through acts of kindness, integrity, and love. It also means living intentionally for Christ, serving others, and sharing faith to make a positive, godly impact in a dark world. It is sharing our faith through deeds.
God's Heart Is for Lost Souls
God's greatest passion is saving the lost. We are yet to realize the value and the pain God has over the lost. Heaven stops to rejoice when just one soul is saved. Just think about this.
Luke 15:7-10
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!' Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
It Is "Go," Not "Gather"
Christ's command was "GO," but the church has specialized in GATHERING together because it has no burden for the lost. In some churches, you never hear an altar call. It is easy for the church to be preoccupied with projects and programs, but ministry should always be about people. That is why Christ came—people… sinners.
If we want to touch God's heart, have a concern for sinners. If you desire to be involved in God's business, be in the business of reaching the lost. Every member and the church must prioritize sharing the gospel with sinners. It must become our greatest priority, our main agenda. Heaven's topmost agenda is not your comfort but lost souls. God's greatest agenda is for men to be saved—which is His kingdom—not your wants.
This is what He wants us to make our topmost priority.
Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Expanding and building His kingdom comes first, then your needs follow. Unfortunately, we are so caught up and consumed with our needs that His kingdom features nowhere. No wonder God is so far away from us. God is only found in His agenda. You make Him and His agenda a priority, and right away you become His priority.
If you want to see His power and love at work in our lives, let us be concerned by what concerns Him. When we obey and go, we will experience His power and presence immensely.
Mark 16:17-18
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
We Were Saved to Save Others; We Are Called to Call Others
The church exists to win the lost to Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.
We are Christ's ambassadors. We are to be consumed and occupied with the desire to see men come to Christ. That is how we show love for sinners—by sharing God's love with them. It means we care and we are concerned about their lives and eternal destiny. Let us take every opportunity to bring men to Christ, beginning with our very families and friends—our very Jerusalem.
John 1:40-42
One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is translated, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas" (which is translated, A Stone).
John 1:45-48
Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!" Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
John 4:28-30, 39-40
The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, "Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?" Then they went out of the city and came to Him. And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, "He told me all that I ever did." So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.
Acts 10:24, 44
And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
Bringing others to Jesus often involves personal invitation, persistence, and sharing one's own experience of Christ.
Reaching the lost is what God values most, and so it shall be the highest rewarded thing in heaven, attracting the highest honours. If you desire to be the greatest in the world to come, have a passion and desire for the lost.
Daniel 12:3
Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
People who influence others toward righteous living will be honoured by God with eternal brightness and glory. Leading people to righteousness is an eternal work, and those who instruct or turn many to righteousness are viewed as "stars" in the church of Christ.
At least invite someone to church, and they will meet Christ.
