1Chronicles 29:1-9
The project ahead of us is an opportunity to serve our God in a privileged way. It will open doors of blessing that we have never experienced in our lives before. Let's do it and do it excellently as David and Israelites did with this understanding;
1. It is a special and unique moment
It presents a unique opportunity. It is important we understand and discern this season God's project is not your ordinary project
Verse 1
we are building a mega sanctuary not for man but for God. We must come in in a very great way for a great God. let's understand the magnitude of this project and give according to the seriousness it deserves. Remember it is not for man but for God.
2. Make it personal
Verse 2
He gave from his personal tressures. He understood it was between him and God. He gave willingly and sufficiently. He gave for every need and gave abundantly
3. This giving goes beyond usual devotions of tithes and offering
Verse 3
His giving was an extra mile on top of his usual devotions. He remained faithful in all other offerings and giving. Let also continue to be faithful in our tithes and offering
4. Leaders should lead by examples
Verse 6-7
The leaders set a great example following in the footsteps of David. They led by examples. They set the pace.
Our board and committee have done an excellent job. They have shown how and what we need to do. They are not being accorded any privilege apart from the privilege of giving more. Let's follow their example.
5. Everybody is to Give their very best
Verse 8
The rest willingly gave their gold. the very best. They gave the very best. That which costed them knowing it was for God their creator. Let us give in a way we have never ever done before in our lives
6. Remember all we have is from God and everything we will ever need will come from him
Verse 11-12
We came with nothing but look where you are? Everything you have is a gift from God. Al the goodness in your life is from him. Giving him everything should never be a problem.
Give without reservations and expect without reservation. As we give let us make it a sacrificial giving and trust God for an unusual breakthrough. Give a gift that will touch the heart of God
7. We can never outgive God
Verse 14
Since everything we have is from God, practically we cannot even give him anything we are only giving back what is his and what he has given us
8.All belongs to him
Verse 16
Even after we have given to him it all belongs to him. This is a test of the integrity of our hearts.
Verse 17
God knows how much He has blessed each and every one of us. Now he watching to see how you will give. Giving is a prove of Devotion. He is saying if you say you love me, show me now. David desired the privilege of building God's house but God instead did build his house
A perfect example
Exodus 36:4-6
[4] So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing
[5]and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.”
[6] Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more.
The reward of building for God
Luke 7:3-5
[3] The centurion heard of Jesus and sent some elders of the Jews to him, asking him to come and heal his servant.
[4] When they came to Jesus, they pleaded earnestly with him, “This man deserves to have you do this,
[5] because he loves our nation and has built our synagogue.”
