2 Kings 6:24-29
And it happened after this that Ben-Hadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria. And there was a great famine in Samaria; and indeed they besieged it until a donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and one-fourth of a kab of dove droppings for five shekels of silver. Then, as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, "Help, my lord, O king!" And he said, "If the Lord does not help you, where can I find help for you? From the threshing floor or from the winepress?" Then the king said to her, "What is troubling you?" And she answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.' So we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her on the next day, 'Give your son, that we may eat him'; but she has hidden her son."
When under siege, the gates of the city are closed and there is no movement in or out of the city. There is no supply coming in, and with time, famine or depletion sets in. Struggle and suffering become normal. Finally, desperation sets in.
Siege is a closed-heaven scenario. Yani ni kama milango ya mbingu imefungwa [It means it is as if the gates of heaven are closed]. Scarcity, financial struggles—nothing seems to move or work. That seems to be what has been happening. Things have become quite hard, to the extent that even the righteous may turn to ungodly means due to desperation. People are really suffering; even businesses are not spared.
The solution is to pray for an open heaven. Mungu afungue milango ya mbingu, mvua ya baraka inyeshe [May God open the gates of heaven, let the rain of blessings pour down], and there will be plenty of supply.
2 Kings 7:1
Then Elisha said, "Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: 'Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.'"
We are going to believe God for a breakthrough. Things will move again and start working out. Delays and obstacles shall be lifted in Jesus' mighty name.
We want to prophesy over April and believe God for an open heaven.
Ezekiel 1:1
Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.
