(Last Sunday of the Year 2025 Message)
Key Scripture:
📖 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
1. Principle of Gratitude – Draw Strength from Praise
📖 Nehemiah 8:10
“…for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Beloved, as we stand at the end of 2025, we must understand this truth: complaining drains spiritual energy, but gratitude restores strength. Praise is not a reaction to comfort; it is a weapon for endurance.
Biblical Example
📖 Acts 16:25–26
Paul and Silas praised God in prison. Chains did not stop praise, and praise did not remain silent—it shook the foundations.
Application
Church, if God carried you through this year—through sickness, lack, battles, and unseen dangers—then gratitude must be your posture. Praise refuels weary runners and empowers finishing grace.
2. Principle of Vision – See Beyond the Present
📖 Habakkuk 2:2–3
Vision keeps you running when circumstances shout “stop.” Without vision, people settle. With vision, people endure.
Biblical Example
📖 Genesis 13:14–17
God showed Abraham what He was giving him long before he possessed it.
Application
As we cross into 2026, do not allow temporary struggles to blind you from eternal promises. What God has shown you is still valid—even if it has delayed.
3. Principle of Timing – Move with God’s Pace
📖 Ecclesiastes 3:1
Not every delay is denial. Not every acceleration is promotion. Strength is found in walking with God’s timing.
Biblical Example
📖 1 Samuel 24:6–7
David refused to kill Saul, choosing God’s timing over personal advancement.
Application
Some battles you avoided in 2025 were divine protection. Trust God’s pace—He never arrives late.
4. Principle of Spiritual Nutrition – Feed on the Right Diet
📖 Matthew 4:4
A runner cannot finish strong on a weak diet. The Word is not optional nourishment—it is survival.
Biblical Example
📖 Jeremiah 15:16
“Your words were found, and I ate them…”
Application
Church, social media cannot replace Scripture. Motivation cannot replace revelation. Those who finish strong are those who feed daily on God’s Word.
5. Principle of Eternal Perspective – Keep the Finish Line in Mind
📖 2 Corinthians 4:17–18
Earthly pain is temporary; heavenly reward is eternal.
Biblical Example
📖 1 Samuel 1:6–20
Hannah endured mockery from Peninnah and misunderstanding from Eli, but God remembered her and gave her Samuel.
Application
What you endured this year was not wasted. Heaven is recording your faithfulness. Don’t quit when your reward is ahead.
6. Principle of Accountability – Do Not Run Alone
📖 Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
Isolation weakens runners; fellowship strengthens finishers.
Biblical Example
📖 Acts 12:5–7
Peter was sleeping in prison, but the church was praying—and an angel was released.
Application
Church, stay connected. Stay submitted. Stay accountable. Your breakthrough may be tied to people praying for you.
7. Principle of Alignment – Run by the Spirit
📖 Galatians 5:25
Speed without direction leads to exhaustion. Alignment brings grace.
Biblical Example
📖 Isaiah 1:16–19
God promised blessing to children who were willing and obedient.
Application
As we close this year, align your choices, relationships, and decisions with the Holy Spirit. Obedience attracts strength.
8. Principle of Endurance – Stay When It Is Hard
📖 James 1:12
Crowns are given to finishers, not starters.
Biblical Example
📖 Joshua 7:1–11
Even after victory at Jericho, Joshua sought the Lord when Israel failed because of Achan’s sin.
Application
Church, endurance is not stubbornness—it is humility to seek God even when things go wrong.
9. Principle of Separation – Drop the Weights
📖 Hebrews 12:1
Not everything sinful is obvious. Some things are just heavy.
Biblical Examples
📖 Judges 6:25–26 – Gideon destroyed the altar of Baal.
📖 Numbers 14:24 – Caleb had a different spirit and claimed his inheritance at 85 years.
Application
If you want to finish strong, you must drop whatever weakens your walk—even if it is familiar.
10. Principle of Discipline – Train Daily
📖 1 Corinthians 9:25–27
Spiritual strength is built, not wished.
Biblical Example
📖 Exodus 34:28
Moses fasted forty days in God’s presence.
Application
Prayer, fasting, holiness, and the Word are not traditions—they are training tools for champions.
11. Principle of Focus – Refuse Distractions
📖 Hebrews 12:2
Those who finish strong are not faster; they are focused.
Biblical Example
📖 Exodus 14:13–16
Moses focused on God at the Red Sea while others focused on fear.
Application
Church, keep your eyes on Jesus. Side noises are not your assignment.
12. Principle of Divine Calling – Know Why You Are Running
📖 Philippians 3:13–14
Purpose fuels perseverance.
Biblical Example
📖 Joshua 1:1–9
Joshua knew God had called him—and he refused to quit.
Application
You are not running randomly. Heaven called you. Grace backs you. Finish what God started.
