Two important things
We are all excited to cross to 2025.
But 2025 will either make you or break you depending on how you cross.
Kuna watu watafurahia na wengine wataumia. Wengine watavumilia na wengine watajivunia. (Some people will be happy and some will be hurt. Some will endure and some will be proud.)
2025 has all this.
Some are excited to cross to 2025 but you better have the God who owns and holds 2025
Numbers 11
1. Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
2. When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed to the Lord and the fire died down.
3. So that place was called Taberah, because fire from the Lord had burned among them.
4. The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, “If only we had meat to eat!
5. We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.
6. But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!”
18. “Tell the people: ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed, “If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will eat it.
19. You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days,
20. but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it—because you have rejected the Lord, who is among you, and have wailed before him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?” ’ ”
31. Now a wind went out from the Lord and drove quail in from the sea. It scattered them up to two cubits deep all around the camp, as far as a day’s walk in any direction.
32. All that day and night and all the next day the people went out and gathered quail. No one gathered less than ten homers. Then they spread them out all around the camp.
33. But while the meat was still between their teeth and before it could be consumed, the anger of the Lord burned against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague.
Verse 4 says The rumbles with them... begun to crave...
They triggered the complaint... disaster...
Who were these rumbles that kept the Israelites bent on trouble until they perished in the wilderness?
Kikulacho ki nguoni mwako (Whatever eats you is in your clothes)
Where did they come from?
Exodus 12
37. The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children.
38. Many other people went up with them, and also large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds.
Moses was sent to deliver the children of Israel not this mixed group. But upon victory, joyriders and adventures joined them in their journey to the promised land. They had not experienced the pain and suffering the Israelites had experienced and at any little hardship they were quick to complain and even dare go back to Egypt.
The Israelites should not have allowed these people to follow and cross with them the Red Sea. They became a snare to them.
As we cross to 2025. There are things that followed you in 2024. The failures, sins sickness, misfortunes, fake friends, bad attitudes, blindness, msoto etc. You need to stand and declare.
I refuse such to follow me and cross with me in 2025 in Jesus' name.
Nakataa kufuatwo na mashida na maneno ya 2024. Kataa kufuatwo kwa kusimama katika mlango wa 2024. (I refuse to be followed by the problems and words of 2024. Refuse to be followed by standing at the door of 2024.)
Joshua 3
8. Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ ”
9. Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God.
10. This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites.
11. See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you.
12. Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe.
13. And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.”
14. So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.
15. Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge,
16. the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.
17. The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.
We are at the edge of 2024 just about to cross to 2025.
So many challenges lie in 2025.
We need God more than anything else
Our 2025 will bring no change if anything it will be worse and regrettable than 2024 unless God goes before us.
Webgine tumejipanga na tuko na mbio sana ya kuvuka ..lakini 2025 sio mwaka rahisi. Ni wale wataweka Mungu mbele watafika mbele. Mbele haiko sawa bila Mungu. Let God go before you.
Isaiah 45:2-3
I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
It is not the year that will make a difference but God.
That's why Moses said in Exodus 33:12-17
Niambie tunaenda na nani
Kama sio wewe hatutoki
It's your presence that distinguishes us (make a difference)
If you are with us we will cross over but without you, we will just be crossing under
Ukiwa na Mungu hautazuiliwa na chochote hata milima..
Despite the challenges ahead, ukiwa na Mungu mbele iko sawa
Hutafuatwa'na hutazuiliwa.
If you don't do these two things haijalishi umerukia mwaka kanisani ama kwa mtaro ...it does not make a difference.
(Tell me who we're going with
If it's not you, we don't come out
It's your presence that distinguishes us (make a difference)
If you are with us we will cross over but without you, we will just be crossing under
When you are with God you will not be stopped by anything even mountains...
Despite the challenges ahead, when you have God ahead, it's okay
You will not be followed and you will not be stopped.
If you don't do these two things, it doesn't matter if you crossed the year in the church or in the terrace... it does not make a difference.)
