Romans 8:14-19 King James Version (KJV)
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”
Hebrew: Ben - a male projectile from a biological male father i.e. Benjamin - son of my right hand.
Greek: Hyios - emphasizes the likeness of a believer to be like his heavenly father, PROJECTING his character and nature more and more by LIVING in faith.
In Ben you may project likeness because you share the same Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and chromosomes but in Hyios you project his nature as you consistently live by and in the heavenly father.
DEMANDS into SONSHIP
1. Followership
Matthew 4:18-19 KJV
“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
It is the responsibility of the Father to make brethren but it is our responsibility to follow, he doesn't make those who show interest, are at his home, bear or shout his name but men who are submitted into followership.
Followership has the pouring in from the father to the sons, buying and living into his ideas and mindset.
Philippians 2:5 KJV
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
Did you know the more you follow the more you look like what you follow.
2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
You are a true follower if you can show what you left to follow this certain course.
Matthew 19:27-28 KJV
“Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
If you never detached yourself from your yesterday you can never step into tomorrow i.e when God called Abraham he called him out of his people into a place he had no idea about. When you follow God forget about certain details that's why we trust him and just follow.
2. Tests your loyalty, commitment and total dependence to fulfil destiny
There is no responsible father who doesn't test his sons before lifting them up. In this kingdom independence is Rebellion. Did you know on his walk under the sun Jesus never called himself FATHER but always referenced his father in all things.
John 5:17 KJV
“But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”
John 5:19 KJV
“Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”
John 21:18 KJV
“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.”
3. Builds patience
God gives speed to men but doesn't Rush men.
Isaiah 43:2 KJV
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
Note thou shall walk not run or fly over but walk through, walking is for burning things in your life. No one passes through fire and comes out the same, either changing shape, taste, colour, or behaviour.
There will always be seasons in life where God will prove certain dimensions to prune you.
No matter how much you hurry destiny it will take time to manifest. Some things happen in time and with time dependent on your capacity to carry.
Luke 2:52 KJV
“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
No matter the hours an expectant mother speaks in tongues she has to wait for 9 months to deliver.
No matter how tall your son is he has to be 18 to drive around.
Hebrews 6:13-15 KJV
“For when God made a promise to Abraham because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”
4. Helps you appreciate those ahead of you
If you have never passed through the process you never appreciate the efforts and commitments of people.
It's easy to comment on a football match while on the cheering squad until you go on the pitch.
Never brag about a temptation you have not been through and overcome.
Children blame their parents on how they spent their days while other parents are grabbing land until they become the parents. We used to wonder how our aunties and uncles were broke until we became them.
People who fight, rumourmonger monger great ppl dnt have the capacity and track record of greatness.
I would be a fool to criticize this man and think I'm better positioned to lead this church when I don't know the process and price he has paid to be here. For every glory, there is a story, for every medal there is a scar.
Rewards don't come to cheers and speculators or commentators but to men who have been training.
Before you criticize your employer what have u built and paid the price and we have seen? Before you wish or pull down someone do you count what they have been through for them to be where they are?
Hebrews 6:12 KJV
“that ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
5. Create testimonies that sustain glory before us
Pain can build the capacity to handle glory, and tests bring testimonies.
Psalm 66:12 KJV
Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; We went through fire and through water: But thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”
Allow men to do what they are made to do. Some of us are bitter with people who God used to cause you pain to refine you.
6. Gain experience to raise others
2 Corinthians 1:4 KJV
“who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”
You are not a true mentor if you don't have stories. Secrets of great men are hidden in their stories.
Stories are foundations and the basis of what you have withstood passed through and proven.
Who are you raising, mentoring to be like you Paul had Timothy?
