Luke 24: 6-7
He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'
The number 3 appears over 450 times. Biblically, 3 represents the Holy Trinity, and new life, completeness, wholeness, resurrection, and harmony
The Holy Trinity is represented by 3 entities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
In scripture, words and phrases repeated 3 times are often important and carry significant spiritual meaning.
As 1 Corinthians 15:4 states, “that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures.”
Similarly, Jonah spent 3 days in the belly of a giant fish to foreshadow Jesus’s crucifixion:
Matthew 12:40
“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth”
We also see significance of no 3 in:
- Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane 3 times (Matthew 26:44
- God calling to Samuel 3 times (1 Samuel 3:8).
- Jesus telling Peter to “feed my sheep” 3 times (John 21:15-17
Repetition is extremely symbolic in the Bible. After all, if something’s repeated, you’re bound to remember it. This draws attention to the given passage, highlighting an overall importance or divine message.
Jeremiah says “land” 3 times to emphasize God’s message (Jeremiah 22:29).
Isaiah says “holy” 3 times to express his devotion and love for the Lord (Isaiah 6:3)
Jesus was brought 3 gifts
When Jesus was born He was given 3 gifts by the Magi or Three Wise Men: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These gifts symbolize Jesus’s life story: gold shows Jesus’ kingship, frankincense represents his deity, and myrrh symbolizes his death.
Matthew 2:9
There are 3 patriarchs
In Christianity (and Judaism), there are 3 patriarchs or fathers of the Israelite nation: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
These are 3 angels in the book of Revelation
In Revelation 14:6-16, 3 angels appear to deliver messages. The first tells the world to worship and believe in God. The second announces the fall of Babylon. The third declares that those who receive the Mark of the Beast will be a victim of God’s wrath.
We are in March the 3rd month
It should bring its significance in our lives.
We need to stand on this revelation and pray in it.
We can believe God for the Holy Trinity, and New life.
Completeness,
Wholeness.
Resurrection.
Harmony.
