Exodus 3:7‭-‬9 NIV

The Lord said, “I have seen my people's misery in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them.

For 400 years Israelites cry out to God in misery and agony for salvation but He seems not to be in response behind the scenes, God is working out a plan for them he is preparing a man.

In Exodus 2:1 Moses is born but he has to be adopted as a grandson to Pharaoh so that he may get to know the protocols and etiquettes of Pharaoh.

He had to flee to the wilderness to know the paths and environment of his next assignment. He had to become a shepherd so that he knows Leadership. Exodus 3:3 - Not all sheep are identical and so are people.

When we find ourselves creating visions about the future, whether it be about what to achieve, where to go, or what paths to take, we often fail to remember the process that comes along with it.

Sometimes, we become so consumed with getting to the destination that we often forget the route to pass through - that in order to get to the end, there is a road to cross over. When Jesus said that you will cross over to the other side. As humans, we want to rush this. But we don’t want to hurry God; He wants us to go through the process.

Process:- a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end - i.e. like in a woman giving birth. We don’t rush a woman to give birth because we don’t want an immature baby.

Four principles to observe while in the process

Choose the right view of God

Philippians 3:10-11 Voice

I want to know Him inside and out. I want to experience the power of His resurrection and join in His suffering, shaped by His death, [11] so that I may arrive safely at the resurrection from the dead.

In Paul’s journey toward his destiny, he was not focused on the destination only but on knowing and understanding God better. He knew that experiencing God’s power came from knowing him “inside and out.”

The biggest temptation and test Is often we have a wrong view of God. This leads to mistrusting what God is doing and trying to take control of the process myself.

View of God

Response to God’s Process

Distant, Impersonal

# I am on my own so I need to take control of my own life.

#God deals with me as others, he is never personal with me

Evaluator

#Always having a negative view about life.

#I have quit before I might as well quit.

#Why me always???

Punisher

#I will always suffer for my former life and mistakes

Loving Father

#God cares and is training me so I am free to make mistakes and grow.

Philippians 3:13‭-‬14 NIV

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal of winning the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

What are the burdens you need to let go of so you can grow?

Discouragement – This is when loss and disappointment have affected me and my faith is tired.  I need to pray so I can specifically identify the discouragements I need to let go of.

Guilt – This is when my faith is blocked by the shame of sin.  I need to pray and talk specifically about what is making me feel guilty so I can leave it behind.

Indifference – This is when my faith is gone, and I just don’t care anymore.  I need time with God so he can reawaken my heart to care for people.

Old paradigms – This is when my faith is outdated, and I am trying to recreate the past rather than letting God build a new future. I need to pray visionary prayers and get in my Bible to see what God is trying to build.
