2 Kings 7:3-83 Now there were four men with leprosy[a] at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? 4 If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.”
5 At dusk they got up and went to the camp of the Arameans. When they reached the edge of the camp, no one was there, 6 for the Lord had caused the Arameans to hear the sound of chariots and horses and a great army, so that they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the Hittite and Egyptian kings to attack us!” 7 So they got up and fled in the dusk and abandoned their tents and their horses and donkeys. They left the camp as it was and ran for their lives.
8 The men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp, entered one of the tents and ate and drank. Then they took silver, gold and clothes, and went off and hid them. They returned and entered another tent and took some things from it and hid them also.
2021 is coming to an end and we are just about to enter 2022. We really thank Go for the far ametuleta. Many people are hopeful and excited about the news. They believe and expect it will bring better things and their lives will be better than 2021. This may turn out to be false hope because all depends on how you will cross the year.
It is not so much going to depend on the year but you will be the main factor. A different forest with the same monkeys makes no difference.
If you are the same person with the same old ways of life and mind set up, sorry 2022 things will remain the same or even worse. Unless you make changes, don't expect a different result.
Changes are only possible when we decide or make Decisions.
Knowing you are not doing fine and desiring to be better will remain just wishful thinking until you Decide.
God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us but He has given us the mind(brains and will) to Decide.
You can pray and fast forever but nothing will happen until you decide.
Prayers ushers grace in our spirit but deciding requires a change of our will and mind. This is up to me.
What decisions have you made as we cross to 2022 or you are placing your Hopes in the year?
Four key Lessons about Decision
1. Decision determines Directions
Where do you want your life to head?.
Just like 2021, unless you are decided, you will just find yourself moving about aimlessly and wandering around in 2022 going to nowhere. unless you decide to change, you are just headed in the same direction still saying "Haki mambo yangu haiendelei poa."
Daniel 1:8
[8]But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.
Daniel took a different and definite path. This distinguished him and set him on the path to greatness, He became the leader of the leaders with a track record in integrity
Your life is headed in the direction of your decisions be it right or wrong
2. Decisions determines dimensions
How big or small you will be in 2022 depends on the decision you have made. 2022 will have the same days as 2021. Your decisions will determine your growth in 2022
The people you admired and their success in 2021 are a result of the decision they made earlier.
Genesis 13:8-9
So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers. Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me; if to the left, then I will go to the right; or if to the right, then I will go to the left.”
This decision determined their growth
Lot ended poor miserable lonely man
v 15- 16 Immediately God spoke to Abraham and his. He was given the whole land together with his lineage. He became the father of nations
Like Abraham, we will have to decide to part or leave some people, behaviour or things we are accustomed or attached to if have to grow or increase our dimensions
3. Decisions determine destiny
Decisions are choices and choices have consequences. Choices lead to destiny. The decisions you make as we enter 2022 will determine whether you will end up in success or failure, greatness or mediocre, wise or foolish
Ruth 1:15-16
Then she said, “Behold, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her gods; return after your sister-in-law.” But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.
This single decision put her destiny as a wife of a noble from poor hopeless single to owner and master of nobility.
From this decision, Ruth grew into a Hero and her name is forever engraved in the history of Biblical heroes
4. Decision determines demands
Decisions come with a cost. It requires you to walk the talk.
Great and Godly decisions are sometimes very expensive. They demand great sacrifice but also yield great results. The reason many people make no decisions or cheap decisions is because they are not willing to pay the cost.
Daniel 3:18
But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”
Esther 4:15
[16]“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish
As we cross over you can take a moment and make the right decision that will make 2022 count.
Decision on no more compromise
Genesis 35:2-4
So Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods which are among you, and purify yourselves and change your garments; and let us arise and go up to Bethel, and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me wherever I have gone.” So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which they had and the rings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the oak which was near Shechem.
Jacob decided enough is enough. No more having one leg in Salvation and the other in the world. It's either I get saved properly leave sin and my sinful ways.
We flow in the word or choose to flow in the world but not both.
For us believers
Joshua 24:15.
The decision to serve God
If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
To non-believers
The decision to get saved
The greatest decision you can make is to give your life to God or to commit your life to Jesus. If you decide to invite Jesus, get the right direction, experience real life and you will end up in eternity.
