Scriptures: James 2:14-20.

Four Principles of Faith

1. Faith is not blind

Hebrews 11:1- Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

True faith sees reality from a distance and anticipates results.

Faith is seeing what you want in its absence. It is hoping in something tangible that you can see yet it is not present as for now.

2. Faith has its foundation on God

True faith is not about us but about God. Faith is us discovering God is our all in all and all we need is to believe him

Romans 10:17

[17] consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

3. Faith is not foolishness

True faith is informed. it springs forth from knowledge and understanding God His will and ability.

Hebrews 11:6- and without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

4. Faith demands action

James 2:18- But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.

True faith is us doing nothing and letting God do everything. Real faith dictates we do our best and leave the rest to God.

James 2:17- in the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

James 2:26 - as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Faith is not mere words but action. : if you really believe something will happen, you take action.

It is important we give our pledges as an indication of our faith in our project. Mere talk and prayers minus pledges is dead faith.
