James 4:7-10 (New International Version)
7. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
Submission
What does submission mean? Google's dictionary defines submission as "the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person, it means not always doing what you want to do. It means putting God's desires above your desires.
When we come to Christ we don't live and operate by our terms and conditions but by his terms, we have a specified contract. We want to be born again and still keep our unborn again relationships, still keep on lying, fornicating, keep your pride, keep your worldliness.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
We want to call ourselves Christians and still, we are clubbing like everyone else, still being gays and we understand that’s your nature… we are still sexual immoral.
When we come into the kingdom we come as we are but we get transformed.
Eph 4:22
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
24.and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
When you get a job you are given a job description and so when we get born again... but many believers have never bothered to know whats their job in the kingdom (even if you don't have a specific ministry your life is a ministry). Some of us we got saved and lost it a long time ago and still think we are on it. God is the only boss that will fire you and still let you come to work.
Dead to self
Matt 16:24 - Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
We deny, take up the cross and follow Christ daily.. salvation is not the denial that you did two years ago its the denial you do every day. Salvation is free but discipleship has a cost to pay. One thing that we know a man that leaves with the cross doesn't come back.
It's not enough for God to be in your heart it matters what n.o he is i.e young man's ten roomed mansion. it was amazing working from home but ever thought about this. If God decided to work from home would he find a room in your home.
He says he is at the door knocking for us to open for him. He is always working from home but we are hardly at home.
David may never be a good man but one thing about him he was after Gods heart, not his hand. We are always after God's hand but not his face, our prayer is always one. God remember me, bless me, multiply me, increase me and God wonders when will you bless him?
Jer 24:7- I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.
The more I get closer to him the more possessive he becomes of me. He is a jealous God. The same way you can not share your spouse so he is he can't share you.
Our faithfulness to God is not tested when we don't have but when we have all. You might be too faithful today, reading the bible every day, praying three times a day like Daniel but it doesn't mean you thirst after God it can be you are not yet employed, married, succeded in your business, bought a car, promoted, lifted, anointed.
Luke 12:16- The fool ate and drunk then spoke his heart out.
This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”
David sinned at the pinnacle of his victorious life
The price for all of God is all of you ... not all your seed, your gift .i.e the rich young man.
The day you will be selfless but Self God things will change. If he is not your all in all he is nothing at all. The day your everything will be his everything that day you will have matured into him. We live on our control until when life loses control and we want to manipulate God. If he is not in control now when you have a good job, marriage is working, business is booming, you are setting a table before yourself ... Don't turn to him when things fall out of place.
John 12:24
24 Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
It's not enough to be on the ground but to die, Jesus was the only begotten son but on his death, he became the firstborn. I will know you hungry for him with the level of damage I will see on your flesh.
Gal 2:20- I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
God is looking for people that are dead to self for him to fill and walk in them among men i.e Enoch walked with him until he was no more. God's strength doesn't dwell on strength but dwells in weakness, God doesn't use complete people- for what shall be his contribution in a complete man? He must break you so that your weakness is the place of his glory
We don't die corporately neither as husband and wife but it’s a personal call.
The price of life is death as the price of the throne is the cross.
