Psalms 23
• In the wake of coronavirus, so much fear has gripped and crippled so many people. It is therefore in order we address this and especially from biblical perspective. There is more fear than the virus itself. In fact there is fear of that fear itself.
Fear - is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, harm, or pain of loss of someone or something.
• As Christians we are supposed to be cautious, careful and confident but not fearful. Our confidence is not out of ignorance but the knowledge of nature of our God.
• As long as we trust in God, we can rest assured He is in control of our lives
Thus fear is simply lack of faith. Fear comes from the enemy,It is a tool of the devil to keep as from acting as per our faith
• The Bible mentions fear-not 365 times, these are the number of days in an year. He is simply telling us everyday not to fear but trust in Him.
• David was involved in more than 12 major battles and other encounters with dangers and death. Notably in every encounter it was a matter of life and death. He was the greatest target and in every encounter deaths were reported but God saved him. He literally walked in the valley of shadow of death. He is speaking from practical experience.
• Most a times fear can be an illusion and there may be nothing to fear as the outcome is more imagined than real.
• Fear comes when we process the information in absence of God factor, the imagined outcome is dangerous and create fear. Fear pushes to acts of desperation
• Fear F.E.A.R. is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. There's no true threat of immediate physical danger, no threat of a loss of someone or something dear to us, actually nothing there at all. F.E.A.R. is an illusion.
Facts about fear
1.Fear focus and concentrate on the problem the instead of God
It brings closer the problem and God fades out of the picture as a result all you see is the problem and God is no where thus we loose our trust in him.
It is amazing that one hand in front of our eyes can prevent you from seeing the whole world in front of you.
Numbers 13:33
We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.". Next people cried the whole night
2.As we have said fear is from the enemy and not God.
• It the best enemy's weapon because he deals with you minus God.
• Fear robs you off the power of God and you are helpless and at the mercy of devil. You act as if God is not there and it's you and the danger thus you do what you deem necessary. You tend to lean and act according to how you understand the situation.
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
3.Fears comes when we are more aware of the problem than we are aware of The power of God.
Amazing even now the more you are informed of the statistics of the deaths and spread of Corona virus the more you panic. But if on the other hand you are digging into the Scripture on God's great power and protection, the fear drains away.
The most informed people are the most affected people
Psalms 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation--whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life--of whom shall I be afraid?
27:2 When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
27:3 Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.
SOLUTION
Have trust in God - Having confidence in God's power, and faithfulness. It is having faith in God.
Trust develops as you spend more time with somebody and get intimate. You get to know the person. In the same way fear grows as you become more aware of danger. This was David secret.
Psalms 27:4 One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.
