John 19
1. Jesus is our Passover lamb
(Exodus 12:3-5)
3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb[a] for his family, one for each household. 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.
God said that on the 10th day of the first month each Israelite was to select a lamb or goat large enough to feed each household . The animal chosen was to be 1 year male without any sort of defect. On Passover night, the Israelites were to kill the animals and place some of their blood on the doorposts of their homes.
That night all the firstborns of Egypt were killed as God judged Egyptians. The firstborn of each Israelite family would be protected if the sign of the blood were on the entrance of their homes. God would “pass over” their homes to spare them. They were saved and not judged.
(Exodus 12:13).
13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.
The blood was the mark for the angel to pass over and not judge them.
The Israelites were not spared because they were sinless but because of the blood. The blood of the lamb symbolised life on their behalf. The goat had died and it's life represented by the blood

Leviticus 17: 14    (life is in the blood)
14 because the life of every creature is its blood. That is why I have said to the Israelites, “You must not eat the blood of any creature, because the life of every creature is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.”
It was a lasting ordinance

(Exodus 12:14)
14 “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD—a lasting ordinance.
You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance” like the Holy communion
This annual Passover symbolized Christ.
1 Corinthians 5:7 refer  Christ as “our Pass-over” ,
7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.
and  John 1:29
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John proclaimed Christ as “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

2. He bought us with his blood
The unblemished male animal represented Jesus Christ as the perfect, sinless sacrifice who died in our place, his death payed the penalty for our sins and reconciled us to God  yet giving us new live to have power over sin.
Hebrews 9:11-12

The Blood of Christ
11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here,[a] he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining[b] eternal redemption.
states that “Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come . . . not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” Jesus Christ bought us with His blood, pouring out His life as our Passover lamb so our sins could be forgiven.
1 corinthians 6:20
20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies
You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

3. Jesus Christ had to die
Our Savior had to die because in this way God could mercifully forgive our sins while maintaining perfect justice. God is just meaning every sin must be judged. The Bible tells us that sin is the violation of God’s law of love
1 John 3:4.
4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God

Romans 3:23.
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We have each earned the death penalty for our disobedience
Romans 5:12
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.
Therefore all of us stood condemed to death for eternity. Since God cannot overlook sin,  Only a perfect sacrifice that could pay for our sins. Blood had to be shed.
Hebrews. 9:22
22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin.
Hebrews 10:4
4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
There was no other option for our salvation. He was the perfect sacrifice.

4. Jesus Christ  gave up His life on our behalf
 Romans 5:6-8.
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We would all be doomed eternally had not the penalty for our sins been paid fully.
2 cor 5:21.
21 God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Christ, who lived a perfect life as the unblemished Lamb of God, substituted His death for ours. In fact, His death was the only possible substitution for ours.
His sacrifice became the payment for our sins. He died in our place so we could share life with Him forever. We can no longer live according to our own desires. We become God’s redeemed, or bought and paid-for, possession
1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We are God's property.
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Despite of our sinful lost status, God's love compelled him ta save us as
John. 3: 16 states for God so love the world that he gave his only begotten ...
He did this by sending Jesus to Christ to die on the cross for our sins. JESUS willingly came and gave his life as a ransom for our life out of love

5.Jesus willingly gave up his life out of love.
John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”

Romans 5:7
”Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.”
“5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. “
6.Jesus Death reconciled us with God
Romans 5:10 we were God's enemy.
10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
Colossians 1:21 we were alienated from God.
21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of[a] your evil behavior.
