1.God sees
As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth
• People tend to ignore when you have issues.
• Especially when you have a long hopeless situation, your are reduced to a mere background.
• People no longer see you or notices you. People can ignore you until you feel you don't exist but no matter where you are Jesus can see you.
Genesis 16 :13 the Lord who sees me
13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen[a] the One who sees me.”
2.God is greater than your worst situation
This man was blind from birth.
• It was was practically impossible, it had never happened so his case was hopeless.
Luke 1:37 Nothing is impossible with God.
37 For no word from God will ever fail.
• Don't despair, Jesus can change your situation. Don't focus on your difficult situation focus on Christ power.
3.God does not consider Mens opinion
“Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
• People will always have an opinion about your problem even though they behave as if they don't notice you.
• Never go by what they say Jesus has the final and true answer. Sometimes learn to ignore men's opinion especially where you can seek God's voice. They seem to know why your not married , jobless sick and even can tel who is the problem you or your family. They never think God could be in it. Men's opinion is not God's voice.
• The disciples assumed that suffering is caused by sin. It could be the parents’ sin. Exodus 20:5 says, Or his sin.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
• If so, his sin had to take place in the womb, because he was blind from birth.
People may think you don't even deserve but when God considers you, their opinion don't matter and that's why he consult no one. Jesus considers us not because we deserve but because he is kind and merciful
2 Samuel 9:3
3 The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?”
Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is lame in both feet.”
4.God is interested in your situation
Your situation is for God's glory
• His situation provided an opportunity for Jesus to heal him, thereby revealing God’s works. It is useful to remember that God’s works can be revealed through adversity.
• Your situation makes you a candidate for his miracles.Let not your neighbours sympathise with you. They should envy you. Your situation means your are marked for a new glory. Let them wait until God is done with you.
5.GOD gives a complete new glory
Jesus gave the blind man a totally new life.
• He does it abundantly exceedingly above
“When he had said this, he spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva , anointed the blind man’s eyes with the mud. Amazingly the man has not even shown faith or asked for healing. Most likely He desired in his heart but despaired
• The people of that day believed in the medicinal use of spittle and so was not suprised.
Jesus’ uses mud like in the creation story (Genesis 2:7). Jesus’ healing of the blind man is creative rather than just restorative. The man, blind from birth, had never enjoyed sight such that it could be restored. Instead, Jesus created sight from nothing—just as God created the world The man was healed.
• Not only were his eyes were healed, but a second miracle takes place as well. The brain of a person blind from birth lacks the ability to process visual information properly. The initial response to such a healing tends to be confusion.
Mark 8: 24 (I see men like trees walking)
24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
• It can take a very long time for such a person to function normally. When Jesus heals this man’s eyes, he also gives him the mental ability to understand what he sees.
6.God expect obedience
Miracles follows obedience.
Most of as substitute obedience with prayers and fasting but obedience is better than sacrifice.
• Jesus’ instructions to go wash in the pool reminds us the story of Naaman and Elisha (2 Kings 5:9-14). In both instances, the healing takes place only after the person obeys. Siloam means Sent. Go and wash .
• In 2020 as we obey our miracle will be sure. What is this the Lord wants you to do?
• Every promise has a premise.
“So he went away, washed, and came back seeing”. Upon obedience he received a complete healing.
• The blind man experienced a new Glory
(V8-10)He was so transformed even the neighbor doubted him.
• When you experiencing a new glory your life changes and those who ignored you confuse you.
