Eph.5.31 - "For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."
Wives look for affection
Women respond to care and love. They are made up of words if treated well they will glow and be younger in appearance. Every wife will reflect the affection of the husband.
Leadership
• To love means giving the very best to your wife, treat her like your queen.
• Do things that affirm your love for her; invest and spend your resources on her. Buy her what she likes not what you feel she wants.
• Treat her with Respect and Dignity in public and secret.
• Spend your best moments with her for she comes first.
Reference Col.3.19 – “Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them”.
Men can be good providers but pathetic lovers, one small petty mistake can be treated with great levels of discipline without any tenderness. Most men tend to joke with their house help and neighbors but harsh with the wife. Also, men have a tendency to release their stress, anger, bitterness frustrations to their very own innocent wives.
Mistakes that men ought to avoid
• Never compare your wife to another woman including your mother, neighbor colleague at work, etc.
• Never ignore your wife in public.
• Never criticize or make harsh remarks about her in public. Instead, admonish her with tenderness and in private.
• Never embarrass, agree with negative comments about her from the public, friends, colleagues. Always, neutralize the effect and make sure you stand on her side no matter what. If need be, correct her in private after all is calm and settled.
• Always appreciate her even if you can do better than her.
• Never brush your wife off. Don’t dismiss her opinions, ideas even thoughts by saying that they are irrelevant pointless and misplaced. Instead, understand and know how to correct her.
• Never abuse, mishandle or her before kids, house helps, home staff, relatives, neighbors, friends, and Public
• Never Micromanage the house. Let them manage the household and internal affairs such as house helps, kitchen dept, interior décor.
What to do
• Be willing to spend on your wife as you spend on yourself.
• Involve her in your decision making, enquire what she thinks then align her in your plan.
• Let her know what’s happening, what you are thinking about, planning to do. Always be on the same page. Remember, she’s your housewife and not house help. Reference, Ephesians.5.31 - "For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."
A truly loving husband shares his secrets with his wife. This includes
• What you do.
• Where you work.
• Your salary and allowances.
• What you own such as logbooks, title deeds,
• what you invest on, business partners
• your important document safe house
• Inheritance.
• What you lend out and borrow.
• Savings accounts and SACCOs
